Term Kickstart! + Meet our teachers

Writer: marie Myriemarie Myrie

What a great first class to the new summer term ahead, welcoming some new budding actors as well as some old faces which has been fantastic!

We had some circus fun as well as some jungle madness happening and some great work of the imagination! We look forward to another week of team building, improv & fun drama games to ease us into the term ahead.

What's to come? Here are just a few things we have up our sleeve for this term...

  • Introduction to puppetry where we will learn the ropes (no pun intended) and the integration of drama and puppets!

  • Tv & Screen workshop - We will look at the different ways/methods we can act in front of the camera as well as what it might feel like to be on a tv set with a director!

  • Craft/prop making -We will utilise our great minds and imagination to create props and design parts for sets and scenes!

Phew! All of that excitement in one term.

If you haven't booked your free trial/free class yet now is the time to get booking! Book trial.

Here's a little re-introduction of our Teachers Marie & Fran, come and say hi!

Marie

Originally born and raised in Poplar, East London and having studied performing arts at the Broadway Barking college, Marie has always kept theatre close to home. She has since worked with known industry establishments such as the National Youth Theatre, The Lyric Hammersmith, Arcola Theatre, Tristan Bates (Covent Garden) and more, as both a writer and actress. After working on method acting in New York, alongside and learning from the likes of the legendary Anna Strasberg and other great theatre connoisseurs,  Marie found a more holistic approach to the arts in finding the truest version of the self through theatre and how this can be implemented within individuals as well as in the community.

Stage highlights: Sharing a joke with Tom Hardy on set (p.s - it wasn't really that funny!) also having a cow's head costume fall off her head in front of an entire pantomime audience.

Fran

Francesca has been teaching privately as well as in performance establishments as a singing teacher and vocal coach for the last 7 years, working with students of all ages. She is also still active in the performing arts industry, and since graduating with a BA in Music Theatre, has had a number of on screen roles from short films and TV work as well as continuing her work in theatre, recently returning from an international tour of Matilda, in Turkey.

Stage highlights: Francesca can be quite clumsy sometimes but especially on stage!! From falling over on stage during rehearsals whilst singing a song, to tripping over lighting wires DURING a performance and causing a blackout through the entire theatre, Fran has done it all!
